Background

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War took players back in time to the 80s age of spies and neon. We were tasked with bringing classic Cold War style to modern Australian culture and launching the game into the pop culture zeitgeist.

Common ground

Playing COD against your mates is all about the banter and whilst no one wants to admit to it, any underhand tactics or sledging you can use to get ahead is fair game.

Tennis Superstar Nick Kyrgios and UFC  champ Alex Volkanovski were challenged to go head-to-head in what they thought was a friendly match of Call of Duty. Instead, former-ASIO spy David Callan armed both of them with Cold War espionage tactics to get under their opponents’ skin and gain the upper hand. The video production had huge visual impact, strong authentic talent chemistry, game narrative and hit multiple verticals across sports, lifestyle and gaming.
